Buying lake balls
Are lake balls worth buying?
For most golfers, yes. A Pro V1 in Grade A or better costs from £1.33 a ball here, against about £4.33 new. Balls that sat in water for a long time can lose a little distance. If that worries you, buy Pearl or Grade A, which are the cleanest balls and have usually spent the least time in the water.
Why are lake balls so cheap?
They are lost balls. Divers recover them from golf course lakes, then they are washed, sorted by model and graded on how they look. The seller did not pay anything like the new price, and the ball has been played before.
Where can I find the cheapest lake balls in the UK?
We compare 7 UK sellers by price per ball, so the cheapest pack of any model is at the top. See the cheapest golf balls right now.
Are lake balls the same as used golf balls?
Nearly. Lake balls are used balls recovered from water. Sellers also call them used, recycled or second hand golf balls, and some include balls found in the rough. Refinished balls are different: they have been stripped and repainted, and each card says so.
